They knew that the life of discipleship was hard and that it took faith, and they were willing to do what needed to be done. But, they didn’t want to get wet.
Our God is a God that loves to burst forth. God created flowers that burst forth from buds, butterflies that burst forth from cocoons, and dogs that burst forth from open doors to run around the yard at the end of a long day.
As it turns out, God knew he was up for it. God also knew that he was scared. And God told him to not be afraid. It might seem like God doesn’t know us at all. We get assignments that leave us shaking in our shoes, and the best God can do is say “do not be afraid”? And why don’t we get to be afraid?
