If we only focus on why Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed (it’s not what you’ve been taught!) and not focus on God’s protection and mercy in saving one small family, we lose the whole point of the story.
How should Christians respond when faced with trial and difficulty? The easy answer is that we should call out to the Lord for deliverance, and we often comfort ourselves with pseudo-Biblical assurances about the response: "God won’t give you more than you can handle." But how does the Lord respond to just such an appeal from one of the most prominent prophets of the Old Testament?
